It is assumed that the entry 'Alexander Pirie Junr' in the Valuation Roll does not refer to his son who would have been approximately 7 years old.20 He was the informant for Jane Pirie's birth at 219 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 3 April 1887.21,22

It is assumed that the entry 'Alexander Pirie, jr' in the Valuation Roll does not refer to his son who would have been approximately 17 years old.24 John Pirie and Alexander Pirie owned the Zulu fishing boat 'Kingfisher' BF 2073. The boat was advertised for sale in December 1902.25
