She was listed as head of household's daughter in the 1901 census at 261 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: Alex Mair "Shavie", head; Barbara A Mair, wife; Georgina Mair, daughter; Barbara A Mair, daughter; Hellen Mair, daughter; Alex Mair, father.3
She married John Wood at 118 Seatown, Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland, on 29 September 1922.2 As of 29 September 1922, her married name was Helen Wood. Helen died on 18 February 1979 at 24 Addison Street, Portknockie, Moray, Scotland, at age 79.2
