     George Sutherland was baptized on 29 September 1831 at Parish of Rathven, Banffshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of George Sutherland and Margaret Flett. His family was known by the tee-name of "Do" or "Doh". George Sutherland was a fisherman. He married Helen Sutherland at Sandend, Banffshire, Scotland, on 28 February 1857.2 He married Jane Smith at Parish of Fordyce, Banffshire, Scotland, on 19 October 1861.3 He was the informant for, and present at, Ann Sutherland's birth at Sandend, Banffshire, Scotland, on 5 October 1862.4,5,6 George died on 17 January 1903 at Findochty, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 71.2
