James Falconer was baptized on 29 September 1780 at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.1 He was a whitefisher and fisherman. He married Margaret Wilson at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland, on 26 January 1800.3
He was listed as head of household in the 1851 census at North Extremity, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: James Falkner, head; Margret Falkner, daughter.4
He was listed as head of household in the 1861 census at 10 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: James Falkner, head; Margret Falkner, daughter; Betsy Wood, grand daughter.5
James died on 8 July 1862 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 81. There is a discrepancy between his mother's name recorded in the death registration (Margaret McIntosh) and that recorded in the Baptism OPR (Isobel Mair). No record can be found for a marriage between his father, James Falconer, and a Margaret McIntosh.6,7
