     John Falconer was born on 10 September 1805 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1,2 He was baptized on 11 September 1805 at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of James Falconer and Margaret Wilson. John Falconer was a whitefisher and fisherman. He married Margaret Mair at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland, on 25 September 1830.3,2
He was listed as head of household in the 1851 census at 29 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: John Falckoner, head; Margret Falckoner, wife; James Falckoner, son; Ann Falckoner, daughter; John Falckoner, son; William Falckoner, son; Joseph Falckoner, son; George Falckoner, son; Elizabeth Addison, servant.4
John Falconer died on 12 February 1856 at sea at age 50; Washed overboard, body not found.2
