     Isabella Harper was born before 9 July 1799 at Hempriggs, Wick, Caithness, Scotland.1 She was baptized on 9 July 1799 at Parish of Wick, Caithness, Scotland.1 She was the daughter of Donald Harper and Elizabeth Gray. She married John Pirie at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland, on 15 September 1819.2 As of 15 September 1819, her married name was Isabella Pirie.
She was listed as a member of the household in the 1841 census at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: John Pirie, 20; Isobel Pirie, 40; William Pirie, 15; George Pirie, 12; James Pirie, 10; David Pirie, 5; Isobel Pirie, 1.3
