John Pirie

John was born at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 17 August 1793.1 He was baptized on 18 August 1793 at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of William Pirie and Isobel Sclater. His family was known by the tee-name of "Buxer". John Pirie, was identified with the tee-name "Buxer" in the registration of his death. John Pirie was a fisherman. He married Isabella Harper at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland, on 15 September 1819.2
He was listed as head of household in the 1861 census at 14 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: John Pirie, head; Isobela Pirie, daughter; David Pirie, son; Jessie Wood, servant.3
John died on 24 September 1867 at Portknockie, Rathven, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 74.4
