     Margaret Mair was born on 3 January 1821 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1,2,3 She was the daughter of John Mair and Janet Wood. Margaret Mair was baptized on 7 January 1821 at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.1 Her family was known by the tee-name of "Cock". She married George Pirie at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 27 June 1854.4,3 As of 27 June 1854, her married name was Margaret Pirie. Margaret Mair was a herring net weaver.
She was listed as head of household in the 1861 census at 222 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: Margaret Pirie, head; John Pirie, son; Hellen Gray, visitor.5
She married George Anderson at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 4 November 1866.3 As of 4 November 1866, her married name was Margaret Anderson. Margaret died in September 1908 at Macduff, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 87.3
