     Katherine Sclater "Hasser" was born on 7 May 1801 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1 She was the daughter of George Sclater and Katharine Mair. Katherine Sclater was baptized on 9 May 1801 at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.1 Her family was known by the tee-name of "Hasser". Katherine Sclater was also known as Catherine. She married James Mair at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland, on 26 December 1824.2 As of 26 December 1824, her married name was Catherine Mair.
