     Henry James Clinton was born on 1 January 1894 at Hackney, London, England.1,2 He was the son of Henry William Clinton and Hannah Ball. Henry James Clinton was an apprentice metal turner and leading stoker in the Royal Navy. He married Isabella Buchan Bruce at Manse of Nigg, Nigg, Kincardineshire, Scotland, on 1 October 1917.3,2 He was the informant for Henry William Clinton's birth at 27 Walker Road, Torry, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on 18 April 1918.4,2 Henry died on 13 June 1918 at HMS Conquest at age 24. HMS Conquest hit a mine off the coast of Essex at 11.40am on 13 June 1918 whilst sailing from Harwich to Chatham killing 9 men. He was buried after 13 June 1918 at Gilliingham (Woodlands) Cemetery, Gilliingham, Kent, England.5,2
