     Alexander Pirie was born circa 1795 at Turriff, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He was the son of Peter Pirie and Unknown Gillespie. Alexander Pirie was a cooper and vintner. He married Isabella Campbell at Parish of Rathven, Banffshire, Scotland, on 10 December 1821.1
He was listed as head of household in the 1851 census at Road leading West, Rathven, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: Alexr Pirie, head; Isabella Pirie, wife; Catherine Pirie, daughter; Margaret Pirie, daughter; Isabella Pirie, daughter; John Pirrie Legg, grandson; Walter James Flett, grandson.2
Alexander died on 7 November 1870 at Findochty, Banffshire, Scotland.3
