     Anne Thain was born before 29 October 1808. She was baptized on 29 October 1808 at Parish of Rathven, Banffshire, Scotland.1 She was the daughter of John Thain and Christian Young. She married Alexander Pirie at Parish of Fordyce, Banffshire, Scotland, on 31 October 1835.2 As of 31 October 1835, her married name was Anne Pirie.
She was listed as head of household's wife in the 1851 census at Seatown, Portsoy, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: Alexr Pirrie, head; Ann Pirrie, wife; James Pirrie, son; Geo Pirrie, son, John Pirrie, son; Ann Pirrie, daughter; Jane Pirrie, daughter; Margt Pirrie, daughter.3
