     George Flett was born on 7 September 1907 at Findochty, Banffshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of David Flett and Ann Sutherland. His family was known by the tee-name of "Flettie". George Flett was a fisherman. He married Jessie Ann Cowie at Buckie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 30 December 1937.1
