     John Sutherland was born circa 1894 at Findochty, Banffshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of George Sutherland and Isabella Sutherland. His family was known by the tee-name of "Do" or "Doh".1 John Sutherland was a shipwright. He married Edith Sutherland at Findochty, Banffshire, Scotland, on 13 October 1922.1
