     Mary Sutherland was born on 27 July 1861 at Findochty, Banffshire, Scotland.1 She was the daughter of Alexander Sutherland and Mary Sutherland. Her family was known by the tee-name of "Sid". She married Alexander Hay at Buckie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 10 December 1886.1 As of 10 December 1886, her married name was Mary Hay. Mary died on 27 January 1913 at Buckie, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 51.1
