Ann Mair

     Ann Mair was born circa 1875 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1 She was the daughter of Francis William Mair and Ann Flett. Her family was known by the tee-name of "Slater".
She was listed as head of household's daughter in the 1881 census at 128 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: Francis Mair, head; Ann Mair, wife; Margaret Mair, daughter; Alexander Mair, son; Ann Mair, daughter; Francis G. Mair, son; John Mair, son; Robert Slater, Nephew; Margaret Ferguson, servant.2
Ann died on 29 June 1913 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, of accidental drowning. Her body found at sea, 600 yards east of the Salmon Fisher's Bothy at Port Long, Cullen.1
