     Margaret Donaldson was born on 19 September 1885 at 273 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1,2 She was the daughter of James Donaldson and Ann Mair.
She was listed as head of household's daughter in the 1891 census at Church Street, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: Jas Donaldson, head; Ann Donaldson, wife; Helen Donaldson, daughter; Maggie Donaldson, daughter; James Donaldson, son; Georgina Donaldson, daughter.3
