     Jean Pirie was born on 15 October 1811 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1 She was the daughter of George Pirie and Jean Wilson. Jean Pirie was baptized on 20 October 1811 at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.1 She married William Innes at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland, on 21 June 1838.2 As of 21 June 1838, her married name was Jean Innes. Jean Pirie was also known as Jane Innes.
She was listed as head of household's wife in the 1861 census at 38 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: William Innes, head; Jean Innes, wife; John Innes, son; Hellen Innes, daughter; Jessie Innes, daughter; William Innes, son; Ann Innes, daughter.3
