     Alexander Sclater was born circa 1885 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of George Sclater and Margaret Wood. His family was known by the tee-name of "Hasser". He married Isabella Green at Portgordon, Banffshire, Scotland, on 5 February 1915.1
