     Jane was born at Shapwick, Somerset, England, circa 1829. She was the daughter of William Isaac and Honour Hockey. She married John Christopher at Wesleyan Chapel, Glastonbury, Somerset, England, on 15 September 1850.1 As of 15 September 1850, her married name was Jane Christopher.
She was listed as head of household's daughter in the 1851 census at Godswell Lane, Street, Somerset, England. Those recorded in the household were: William Isaac, head; Honour Isaac, wife; Elizabeth Isaac, daughter; Charles Isaac, son; John Christopher, son-in-law; Jane Christopher, daughter; George Plucknett, lodger; Maria Auger, visitor.2
