George Wood

     George Wood was born on 2 September 1871 at Parish of Saint Nicholas, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of Alexander Wood and Isabella Sinclair. His family was known by the tee-name of "Reid".
He was listed as head of household's son in the 1881 census at 44 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: Isabella Wood Reid, head; Cath. Wood Reid, daughter; James Wood Reid, son; George Wood Reid, son; Alex. Wood Reid, son; Margaret Wood Reid, daughter.2
George Wood was a fisherman.

George died on 14 February 1893 at sea about 25 miles NNE of Fraserburgh at age 21. He drowned by being washed overboard in a storm.4
