     Alexander Mair was born on 9 September 1912 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of Alexander Mair and Jessie Slater. His family was known by the tee-name of "Saucy". Alexander Mair was Professor of Medicine at Dundee University.2 Alexander died on 6 August 1995 at Dundee at age 82.1
