[S4361] Article, 'CHILD KILLED AT PORTKNOCKIE', Aberdeen Journal, "CHILD KILLED AT PORTKNOCKIE. - On Sunday evening a number of children were playing at Lady Seafield's Jetty, when one of them, George Wood ("Park"), a boy about six years of age, leaping on board the Defiance - a large zulu boat - moored to the jetty, missed his footing, and kept himself from falling into the water by catching and hanging from the rail above the gunwale near the stern end. His grandfather and one or two others saw his peril and hurried to save him, but were too late. The boat swung back, and the boy's head was crushed. Death was instantaneous."
