     Isobel was born at Slacks of Cairnbanno, New Deer, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, circa 1775.1 She was the daughter of John Cheyne and Jean Sandison. Jean Cheyne (298) and Isobel Cheyne (299) may be the same person. The Cheyne Family Genealogy Website shows Isobel Cheyne married to George Paterson on the page for Jean Cheyne. She married George Paterson at Parish of New Deer, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on 19 June 1798.2 As of 19 June 1798, her married name was Isobel Paterson.
