George Reid Topp

     George Reid Topp was born before 14 May 1835.1 He was baptized on 14 May 1835 at Parish of Fordyce, Banffshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of John Topp and Janet Cumming. George Reid Topp was a merchant seaman, farm servant and agricultural labourer. He married Margaret Pirie at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 2 November 1858.2,3,4 He was the informant for Margaret Pirie's death at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 28 December 1874.5
He was listed as head of household in the 1881 census at Blairock Croft, Deskford, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: George Topp, head; Mary H.B. Topp, daughter; George Topp, son; James Topp, son.6
