     Margaret Mair was born on 9 December 1855 at Parish of Rathven, Banffshire, Scotland.1 She was the daughter of George Mair and Catherine Mair. Her family was known by the tee-name of "Slater".
She was listed as head of household's daughter in the 1861 census at 173 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: George Mair, head; Cathrine Mair, wife; Margret Mair, daughter; Alexr Mair, son; Janett Mair, daughter.2
She married George Mair at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 2 April 1880.3 She was the informant for, and present at, Jessie Grant Mair's birth at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 2 November 1904.4 Margaret died on 27 December 1925 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 70.3
