James Mair

     James Mair was born on 25 July 1870 at Seagate, Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of George Mair and Euphemia Pirie. His family was known by the tee-name of "Shanker".

He perished with the Portknockie Zulu fishing boat 'Evangeline' BF 1952 that was wrecked off Stronsay during a great storm. The entire crew was lost. His body was not recovered.
