     James Mair was born on 26 January 1869 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1,2,3 He was the son of Alexander Mair and Margaret Galt. His family was known by the tee-name of "Shavie". His family was known by the tee-name of "Gault". James Mair was a fisherman. He married Georgina Mair at Seafield Church, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 29 November 1895.3 He was the informant for Annie Wood's death at 438 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 17 October 1918.3 James died on 30 October 1940 at 3 Mid Street, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 71.3
