James Cockburn Mitchell

James Cockburn Mitchell was born illegitimate circa 1879. He was the son of James Mitchell and Barbara Cockburn. James Cockburn Mitchell was a warehouseman and electrician. He married Jeanie Pirie Riddoch at Gair's Cafe, Exchange Street, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on 12 December 1902.1 James Cockburn Mitchell was found on a passenger list for 16 August 1907 of the passenger ship 'Sicilian'. Those recorded in the passenger list were: Mitchell James, Mitchell Mrs, Mitchell Jas, Mitchell Jean.2 He immigrated on 27 August 1907 to Quebec, Quebec, Canada.
He was listed as head of household in the 1921 census at 1200 12th Avenue East, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Those recorded in the household were: Mitchell James, head; Mitchell Jennie, wife; Mitchell James Riddoch, son; Mitchell Jean Ann, daughter; Riddoch Isabel, mother-in-law; Pirie Alexander, brother-in-law; Pirie Isabel, niece.3
