     Ann Sclater was born on 11 May 1853 at Rathven, Banffshire, Scotland.1 She was the daughter of James Sclater and Ann Sutherland. Her family was known by the tee-name of "Hasser".
She was listed as head of household's daughter in the 1861 census at 217 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: James Sclater, head; Ann Sclater, wife; John Bruce Sclater, son; James Sclater, son; Ann Sclater, daughter; Helen Sclater, daughter; James M. Collie, lodger.2
Ann Sclater was also known as Ann Slater. She married John Donaldson at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 5 October 1877.3,1 As of 5 October 1877, her married name was Ann Donaldson. Ann died on 1 July 1947 at Morven View, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 94.4,5,6 She was buried after 1 July 1947 at Hillhead Cemetery, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.5
